Originally from Australia, the product was first conceived when I woke up one morning to find that our current Prime Minister had been kicked out of office overnight and as part of the transition, the party was changing policies. I felt that there should be a way for the political party to quickly gauge public opinion on issues like this, even if the decision needed to be made within hours.
We quickly realised there was a much larger market for companies wanting to converse regularly with consumers, so we set out to create a platform for everyday people to answer questions and that was first and foremost consumer-focused. We wanted to create a platform to capture and engage consumers who take part in no other form of market research.
I am not someone who answers traditional survey emails and I wanted to create an engaging lifestyle app that everyday people would enjoy using while providing insight. I’m happy to say 85% of our community today don’t partake in any other form of research and use our app to give feedback on topics and news events that interest them. Our in-app gamification encourages progression and also helps drive our strong user retention.

We have seen a real need, more than ever, for companies to speak and engage with consumers. There is still a lot of uncertainty in many industries and a lot of companies are having to evolve rapidly in regards to how they engage with consumers. OnePulse has just closed a funding round of £2M allowing us to scale our SaaS product offering across new international markets, so our clients can literally have their finger on the global ‘Pulse’ at any time and anywhere.
